Introducing Rage Wellness
Once upon a time, I experienced something that, to me, felt extremely sexist and messed up. And while I cannot legally share details beyond that information, what exactly happened is not the point of this story. The details do not matter because every woman in the world has experienced their own version of sexism. The experience left me disillusioned, disheartened, and full of (to call it what it honestly was) rage. But something amazing came out of this turmoil — the creation of Rage Wellness.
Amidst my grief, I searched for a way to cope with my emotions and regain a sense of control. Aware of rage rooms as a means of stress relief, I envisioned a unique space where individuals — namely other women like myself — could safely unleash their pent-up emotions without judgment or shame (as a whole, society does not allow women to show an ounce of negative emotion without labeling them as crazy). Because of this truth, I recognized the universal need for such an outlet.
Thus, the concept of Rage Wellness was born—a (literal) safe space (yep, on the nose!!) for individuals to confront and release their emotions in a constructive manner — by literally taking an aluminum bat to an array of old items already on their way to the dump. Rooted in the belief that traditional therapy may not always suffice, Rage Wellness offers a physical way to process and channel anger, providing a vital tool for navigating life's never ending complexities.
While initially conceived with Gen X and Millennial women in mind, Rage Wellness is inclusive and welcoming to all who seek solace in the face of adversity. It is not a panacea for society's ills, but rather a compassionate response to the universal struggle for empowerment and self-care.
By sharing my journey and founding Rage Wellness, I hope to empower others to confront their emotions openly and authentically, fostering a community of resilience and healing in the modern world.
